Petrolheadedness: 88Brit's random thoughts on the motoring world.

Some useful bits & bobs...

Wonderful thing, this internet.  Lots of information, lots to learn and lots of stuff to have fun with (and I don't mean just the naughty stuff).  I've tried to come up with list of petrolhead online resources and ended up with something that runs the gammut from inspired blogs, stunning photography, general automotive sites and resources, and a fair amount of downright silliness.  The site/blog/tweeter name is the link, so get clicking...
Motoring websites...

BBC Top Gear - if you have an ounce of petrol in your veins then this one should need no introduction.

Jalopnik - excellent US based website for news, reviews and general motoring irreverency.

Car & Driver - website of the magazine of the same name.

5th Gear - website accompanying the Channel 5 (UK) motoring show, articles, reviews and news from the team.

Pistonheads
 - excellent community of writers and enthusiasts, plus they had their logo on Mansells (doomed) Le Mans car this year.

Motormorph - news, reviews, some arsing about and a lot of worthwhile reading.

STIFF Magazine (soon to become Racing & Waiting) - yank your mind out of the gutter, ignore the questionable name and enjoy the motoring content.

On The Sidewalls - apparently the world's 37th best motoring website?  Whatever, just add it to your favourites.

Smoked Out - excellent way of staying up to date with their weekly news and reviews video, featuring the increasingly excellent Alex Goy.

Motorious - the work of brothers Franco & Roman, articles, blogs and a fair bit of fun poking too.

Motoring blogs...

Petrolblog - the musings of MajorGav, blogging on everything from badgers (not the four legged kind) to shatchbacks (parts I, II and III) to the downfall of Peugeot and the wonders of urS6 ownership, HIGHLY recommended.

The Making Progress Blues - mostly about riding a bike, but also throws out some excellent thoughts on wider issues facing the motoring community.  Oh, and biscuits as well.

Alex Goy - home of the excellent "The Gas Station: Podisodes" (also to be fund on iTunes) along with articles and videos put together by the talented Mr Goy and his pals Jon Quirk and Cameraman Phil.

Sniff Petrol - massively irreverent and very funny, a frequently off-colour look at the world of motorsports.

Car Pervert - blogs from Jonny Smith, the tall one with interesting facial hair off of 5th Gear.  Oh, and well worth a read or two.

Flat In 6th - more motorsport bloggery and opinion.

The Car Disco - more humour and general fun poking, well worth a gander and a bloody nice bloke to boot.

MMC Musings -  chap called Mark McArthur-Christie.  Rides a bike and writes about it, along with some good stuff on motoring related stuff in general.

The Brown Car Blog - never really been a fan of brown cars?  Really?  Think again.  This blog will educate you.

This bit is unfortunately listed under "coming soon" i.e. when I get around to it - this whole site is work in progress.  For the time being click here and you will be whisked away to my Twitter list of petrolheads, car nuts and people with grease under their fingernails.  Any and all of them are worth following.
